Artificial Intelligence Photonics Research Group
Outline
The Artificial Intelligence Photonics Research Group develops innovative approaches in advanced laser processing, image information processing, and multidimensional measurement technologies. By integrating optical technologies with AI and deep learning, the group promotes the development of “digital twins” that reproduce real-space phenomena and functions in cyberspace. In advanced optical technologies such as optical measurement and laser processing, numerous parameters are intricately involved, making it challenging to understand phenomena and optimize processes. Our group analyzes complex data obtained from laser microfabrication, imaging, and observations of photoexcited processes, and uses originally developed optimization methods and AI technologies to establish improved processes. Through these efforts, we extend advanced optical technologies to complex systems involving biological functions, chemical reactions, medical applications, and engineering, and develop new techniques for measurement, analysis, and control.
