Interdisciplinary Research Group
Outline
The Interdisciplinary Research Group actively explores new research frontiers that connect diverse academic fields, including life sciences, materials science, nanophotonics, and quantum technology, through light as a unifying foundation. Our group spans a wide range of research topics, including the visualization of biological phenomena using fluorescent proteins and super-resolution imaging, the creation of novel optical devices through quantum optoelectronics, and the development of light manipulation technologies based on metamaterials. By advancing technologies that use light to observe, control, and generate new functionalities across disciplinary boundaries, we seek to foster innovation at the intersections of these fields. Going beyond the limits of conventional disciplines and uncovering new connections among living systems, materials, nanostructures, and quantum phenomena, we aim to expand the scope of optical science and open new avenues of research.
